These Terms govern your use of Competitive Crosswords ("the Service"), operated by Thomas Hymas. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Competitive Crosswords is a free, real-time multiplayer crossword game. It is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time.
Some opponents in competitive races may be computer-controlled ("ghosts") generated from anonymised past solves rather than live players — for example when few people are online. See the Privacy Policy (section 8) for how ghosts are made and anonymised.
You agree not to:
Your display name and game results are shown on public leaderboards. Display names must not be offensive, deceptive, or impersonate another person or brand. We may remove or reset a display name, or remove leaderboard entries obtained by cheating, at our discretion.
The Service, including its software, design, and puzzles, is owned by Thomas Hymas or his licensors and is protected by law. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from it without permission. You may, of course, play the puzzles.
You may delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to protect the Service or its users.
The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Thomas Hymas is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
We may update these Terms; we will revise the "last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, and any disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction.
